Moving on to day 5.
On day 5, after breakfast, we had a service going on in our dining area.
Well, I was quite surprise as there were quite a few Christians over there.
I always have the mindset that in Sri Lanka the majorities will be Hinduism.
However I saw quite a number of Christians over there.
When the service started, luckily Lawrence was there to translate the pastor preaching.
After the service, we talked to Pastor and introduce his children to us.
I still remember some of the Tamil Tigers were at our camp area after our service was over.
It is still quite scary as usual.
How can you don't feel anything when they carrying big guns and walk around you?

Hehe~

We took some photos before the service..

The girls...

The guys..
Haha.
So, we started to do practice on our " I will follow you " dance.
We plan to perform this dance the next day.
However, the plan is cancel.
Back in that village, everything is very laid back.
Last minute changes is a common thing over there.
It is a lot different in Singapore as we always plan things ahead.
My schedule booklet will be full of words.
But if I brings my schedule booklet over there, it will just be blank or canceled schedules.
After the practice, we start to do all the preparation work for the Telematch.
During the preparations, we have 2 new injuries.
Shermain and Kelly.
Haha.
Sermain nail broke because one soccer ball came flying towards us and she blocked it.
Which results in her broken nail.
I was sitting right in front of her.
After her nail broke she started crying.
At that moment, I don't really know how to react.
I just start to comfort her.
So I ask her is it painful, she said yes.
Then I asked her why she started crying.
She said it is because her nail broke!
Haha.
Felt relief after hearing that.
Kelly injuries is also another one that made me feel like laughing.
We were doing the preparation work.
So Kelly was the one who is pulling the tape, Jonathan was the one who is cutting the tape.
While cutting, Jonathan accidentally cuts Kelly finger!
Soon Kelly finger started to bleed.
Both of them injure their fingers in a funny way.

Poor Kelly...

The 2 of them.

Work in progress..
When all of the preparations are done, we were being brief by LiTing.
She was the Head of that day Telematch.
So she split us in to different groups and form a team with the children there.
Fist game, we play a mass Blow Wind Blow.
Then we started our telematch.
Poison ball, Twister and etc....
Lawrence was there to translate those rules too all of them.
However, they can't seems to follow the rules.
Everything was played in a very messy way.
But!
The children are enjoying themselves.

Briefing...

Blow wind blow~

Telematch...

Twister~

She's in my group.
Haha. She keeps clinging on me and keep grabbing my finger.
At first I thought that I will need to keep my spirits up and influence them to play the game with us.
But they are more excited than me!
They enjoyed the game.
One of our Service Objective is completed.
As we have found a lot of smiles on their faces after the telematch.
In my group, as a lot of them don't understand English.
Some of the older kids who are able to understand simple English helped me a lot.
As I am the group leader at one of the team.
When I ask them to line up, the older girls will help me in translate it to Tamil and help me to get everyone in line.
So after the telematch, we gave out sweets to all of them.
Then we stand one line and bow and said Thank You to them for being such a good participant.
Soon, all of them come and shook our hand and said Thank You to us.
I don't really know how to describe that feeling.
I have this warm feeling deep down in my heart.
Suddenly, I feel that I don't dislike children anymore.
Because back in Singapore, Singapore kids are so irritating.
With the age of 10 they start to scold vulgarities.
Being a nuisance when their parents does not buy the presents that they wanted.

See how happy they were?

Getting sweets from Liting.

Giving out the sweets to them.
If we have bought this telematch back to Singapore.
Let the Singapore children to join this telematch, they might not enjoy as much as the children over there.
Singapore children will complain that the telematch is lame and they will turn to their PSP or DS and started playing that.
After the telematch, we decided to do a movie screening for them.
So we built up a screen by pasting mahjong papers on the canvas sheet.
Then we tied the canvas sheet on to some wood.
We played Ratatouille for them.
Some of us watch the movie with them while waiting for dinner to be served.

The villagers went back home after the movie.
The day ended with smiles on their faces and a sense of achievement in my heart.
