Day 2 : http://pinkey0jing.blogspot.com/2008/10/oslt-sri-lanka-day-2.html
Day 3 : http://pinkey0jing.blogspot.com/2008/10/oslt-sri-lanka-day-3.html

Let's talk about what the officers have prepared for us.

After a long day of working, all of us gather and have our dinner.
At first, our dinner was quite enjoying and relax.

Until Yaohan came into the picture.
We were happily eating and suddenly Yaohan starts to choke and he stands up and drink water.
I thought that everything will be fine as it is just some minor choking.

Little did I know, the next thing that I saw is Yaohan fainted and Jonathan started shouting his name.
At that point of time, my mind is blank.
But I just sit there and do nothing.
Because it won't help by crowding around him.

I still thought that it is nothing big and he will come in to conscious soon.
Until Jonathan said that he can't find his pulse...
Emotions starts flowing through.
This is too real to be true.

I was already at the verge of not keeping calm.
But I told myself that I cannot breakdown at this moment.
If breakdown, the rest will be affected by me too.

There were some people that went out and look for papa.

Whereas me, I just do what they have told.
Move the tables away, give him more space.
Give him more air by fanning him.
Suddenly someone remember of the EAP.

Soon, papa came.
Then I saw papa kicking Yaohan butt.
Papa look very calm.
Then I sense something fishy in this whole thing.
Then Yaohan came back into conscious.
So this whole thing is an act from the officers.

Then all of us went to the boys bunk and hear what was everyone doing at that point of time.
The officers also clarify with us the purpose of this whole thing.
Actually during our training before going for this Sri Lanka trip, we were brief by a Emergency Action and Evacuation Plan (EAP). As Sri Lanka is a country that internal conflicts is still going on. The Tamils and Sinhalese are still fighting.
So anything could have happen when we're over there.
This whole EAP is to guide us on what we should do when emergency happens.
So the officers were trying to test us whether we follows the EAP when emergency happens.

Is it right for the officers to test us on this kind of matters?
Well, after thinking about it, I feel that there is a need to do this.
During emergency, whatever that we did is no right or wrong.
However, after this experience, we may do a better job the next time if emergency really strikes.

Think back of this EAP it is really a whole new experience.
Well, so far I don't have anyone close to me passed away.
I think that is the reason why when emergency happens, so much emotions flow through me.

Some classic moments during the EAP too.
When Yaohan fainted, Jonathan was right beside him and I was standing behind Jonathan.
Papa was already standing right in front of us but Jonathan did not saw him.
Jonathan was desperate at that time and he shouted " Can anyone please go and look for Kenny?!"
But papa was standing right in front of him already.
Haha.
So this one of our classic moments during the whole OSLT trip.

No photos on this post..
Isn't it obvious?
Who will take photo during emergencies??

Oh ya!
After the EAP, some of us laid the canvas sheet on the ground we were lying at the canvas sheet to do star gazing.
Some of us did our reflections.
And guess what...
I saw the first shooting star in my life!
Of course I made a wish.
But that wish is no longer important now.

Although we're looking at the same sky...
But we can never see that amount of stars in the night sky.

P.S : I hope my primers juniors for those who are going for the OSLT next year will not see this post. They are not suppose to know the EAP. They should go through on what we have gone through.
